An AIF can launch a liquidation scheme to deal with investments it could not sell during the liquidation period. The placement memorandum is filed with SEBI through a merchant banker, with the fee. Several general rules do not apply to a liquidation scheme, including the corpus and minimum investment rules in Regulation 10, the scheme and tenure rules in Regulations 12 and 13, and the category investment conditions.
